Elements and Qualities
Readings on this site use the sun sign in the tropical zodiac. They are not a full natal chart. A natal chart needs a birth time and a birthplace, which this site does not collect or calculate. Astrology here is entertainment and interpretive tradition, not medical, legal, or financial advice.
Newspaper astrology inherited two old sorting words: element and quality. Element is fire, earth, air, or water. Quality is cardinal, fixed, or mutable. Together they make the twelve tropical sun signs. On this site they are editorial folders. They are not a test you can fail.
Fire copy talks about pace and speech. Earth copy talks about paper and limits. Air copy talks about drafts and group plans. Water copy talks about mood with an end time. Cardinal copy talks about starts. Fixed copy talks about standards. Mutable copy talks about adjustment. You can read those essays on the library pages, then open a single sign’s daily horoscope.
The folders leak. A Virgo paragraph can mention rest. A Sagittarius paragraph can mention a cost. That is because the readings are short human essays, not a machine that only knows four nouns. If a page ever sounded like a quiz, it would be doing the wrong job.
This site still will not compute an ephemeris to “confirm” your element. The civil table assigns one sun sign. The element and quality follow from that label. If you sit on a cusp date, read two profiles. Do not ask the software for a blend it did not calculate.
The library is for wandering. Today is the short lens. A guide is for method. All of that is entertainment. None of it is a natal consultation.
